The Blane Valley Carbon Neutral Group have been successful in their application for funding from the Climate Challenge Fund. The application was developed jointly by the BVCNG and local community-based company Solas. The application was submitted via the Strathblanefield Community Development Trust, through which the £106,885 of grant funding will be channelled.
The Scottish Government has appointed Keep Scotland Beautiful to administer the Climate Challenge Fund. The Climate Challenge Fund Grants Panel approved the application on 24th March 2009, and their decision was ratified on behalf of the Scottish Government by the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment, Richard Lochhead MSP.
